Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy criticised and used what in colloquial Telugu abusive language against former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Head Priest Ramana Deekshitulu. While his question was - who is Ramana Deekshitulu. It's tone and manner in colloquial language are considered harsh and derogatory. "The truth of TTD episode will be out if we put Ramana Deekshitulu behind the bars and thrash him."
Somireddi's reaction has invited all-round criticism from all over the state. The purohits or priests have criticised the high-handedness of TDP government over the TTD affairs and pointed out that Somireddi's words were an indication of this.
Earlier the minister questioned who the former Head Priest was and said that it was because of people like Ramana Deekshitulu that the devotees of Lord Venkateswara were losing faith. He criticised Ramana Deekshitulu saying he was unnecessarily spoiling the reputation of Tirumala temple. He warned him not to politicise the matter.
Somireddi claimed that they have a list of Ramana Deekshitulu's misdeeds.
