Keerthy Suresh's Mahanati, the Savitri biopic which was released on May 9 is making waves in the industry. A movie analyst observed in a private conversation that so far he not heard one negative comment about the film, which itself speaks for its quality and class. Mahanati has kept cash registers ringing at the box office since the opening day. The film seems to go past a new milestone with each passing day.

It is the first woman-centric film which has crossed the $2 million mark at overseas box office. Reliable sources inform us that Mahanati is right behind Rangasthalam and Bharat Ane Nenu, the biggest blockbuster in the first quarter of 2018. Trade analysts point out how Telugu movies are ruling overseas box office. Mahanati enjoys the distinction of being among them though it doesn't have any A-lister stars in the film.

So far the film has earned $44,952 and currently stands among the top earners with a total of $2,318,499, by sixteenth day.
