A Habitual Liar Like Chandrababu Needs To Be Taught A Lesson: YS Jagan
Eluru: Trusting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would develop West Godavari district, the people of this district ensured all the 15 assembly seats went to TDP. But unfortunately he has let them down. The ruling TDP government is involved in corruption at every stage, said Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Speaking at a massive public meeting here today organised as part of his historic mass outreach programme Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he reminded people that the first step against the corrupt TDP government was taken in this district.
YS Jagan remembered Tahsildar Vanajakshi, who fought against illegal sand mining and was abused by MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar. Over Rs 400 crores worth of sand was illegally transported from the West Godavari district. "Everyone from MLAs to district collectors; from ministers to Chinna Babu (Lokesh) are highly corrupt and the leader of this corrupt gang was none other than Pedda Babu (Chandrababu)," he pointed out.
The YSRCP Chief said that apart from MLA Chintamaneni, another MLA Sesha Rao was another pest in the district. Chintamaneni pulled her hair and dragged Vanajakshi out of the office when she opposed illegal sand mining. "Without punishing the MLA, Chandrababu himself worked out a settlement on the issue," he said. YS Jagan said that the incident was the first step of revolt against the corrupt TDP government and it had happened in West Godavari district.
The Leader of Opposition pointed to the atrocities of TDP MLAs and leaders on the people and said not just the MRO, forest officers and anganwadi women have also been abused. Even the Additional District Judge was not spared from the TDP cadre atrocities, he asserted. "This was Chandrababu's way of expressing thanks to the district for giving 15 seats to TDP."
YS Jagan said that people of this district had not forgotten former Chief Minister late Dr YS Rajashekara Reddy and added that he had purchased lands with government money and distributed them to 12,000 people for free. At the same time, Dr YSR had also constructed 5000 houses for the poor. He said that the locals told him that Chandrababu had not done anything for them till date. He recalled the contribution of Dr YSR to solve the water problem in Eluru and said that Dr YSR had constructed water tanks, but today there were many villages without water and no one was concerned about them. He said that Eluru Municipal Corporation employees told him that government was calling this city a smart city but they were not paid salaries since five months.
He asked the people if anyone was happy in the last four years and questioned how would they elect a person who had betrayed and misled them. He said that none of the promises made during the elections had been fulfilled by Chandrababu and TDP government. "In fact the government has hiked the power tariff and the prices of RTC tickets. When people started questioning about the promises made in the election manifesto, they have removed the manifesto from the party website," he said.
Speaking at a massive gathering, YS Jagan said that Chandrababu misused the constitutional authority and managed the media over the last four years. With respect to Special Category Status, he had blatantly lied and cheated the people of AP. Before elections Chandrababu said he would strive to get 15 years SCS to AP. After elections, he enjoyed the company of BJP and conveniently forgot about the SCS. "Whenever YSRCP tried to fight for SCS, TDP would obstruct it. If only TDP MPs had also resigned from Lok Sabha along with YSRCP MPs, we would have got SCS," he said.
The YSRCP Chief criticised the way Chandrababu sat for one-day fast and said it was mere waste of Rs 30 crores for state exchequer. The AP CM had lied about the huge investments made in the state during the Partnership Summits and also said that lakhs of jobs had been generated. Such a habitual liar need to be taught a proper lesson in next elections, he concluded.
