Kanna Laxminarayana Appointed AP BJP Chief

Kanna Laxminarayana and MLC Somu Veerraju - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Eyeing the upcoming 2019 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made some internal changes in its Andhra Pradesh unit. In a surprising move, the national party's high-command announced Kanna Laxminarayana as AP BJP Chief, in a statement released on Sunday. The party already announced that Andhra Pradesh is their next target after the Karnataka Assembly elections, which ended on Saturday.

On the other side, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju, who is known for his strong public presence, has been bestowed with an important post in the party. The party appointed the MLC as the Convener of Andhra Pradesh BJP Election Management Committee.
Initially, it was rumored that Veerraju would be offered the BJP Chief post. Following this, Kanna Laxminarayana was believed to be upset on the decision and speculation was rife that he would leave the party. However, more information is yet to be known on the issue.
