Casting Couch Not Confined To Film Industry: Samantha

Tollywood top actress Samantha, who is currently basking on the success of Rangasthalam, in which she was highly acclaimed for her performance opposite Ram Charan. 40 days from its release, Rangasthalam earned $3,509,154 at the foreign box office.

Samantha recently reacted on the recent controversy of casting couch in Tollywood, following protests by actress Sri Reddy. When asked about her opinion on casting couch in the Telugu film industry, Samantha said it is a reality in all fields, not just in the acting industry.

"Casting couch is a reality in all industries and not just in films. Since my first movie was a success, I didn't face a lot of hassles in the beginning, both in Telugu and Tamil industries," the Rangasthalam actress said.

"The government's decision to form a special cell to look into the complaints of alleged sexual exploitation in the industry is a welcome move. Like everywhere, there are a few bad people in the industry, but overall, things are fine in the industry," Samantha added. The Akkineni actress worked in several films in her eight year career, in both Telugu and Tamil languages.

Mahanati, the much anticipated biopic on legendary actress Savitri, in which Samantha played a major role, will be in theatres tomorrow.
