YS Avinash Reddy Writes Open Letter To Chandrababu
YSR Kadapa: YSR Congress Party MP YS Avinash Reddy wrote an open letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the government's decision of diverting net prevailing waters from Tungabhadra dam to Chitravati. He pointed out in his letter that if the net prevailing waters of Tungabhadra dam were diverted there would be no water for Pulivendula Branch Canal and Lingala East Canal.
The Kadapa MP criticised the TDP government for being dependent on flood waters of Krishna river for Tungabhadra net prevailing waters. It was only through Tungabhadra that 2 TMC of drinking water was supplied to the towns of Pulivendula and Dharmavaram. Once this was over there was no water left for irrigation, he said.
Avinash Reddy questioned how they could not have rights over the net prevailing waters of Tungabhadra. He reminded Chandrababu in the letter that Chitravati project was completed by former CM late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. YSRCP would oppose any move by the government to meddle with their right over Tungabhadra net prevailing waters, he added.
