New twist to MLA Eli Nani's daughter's tale
There's a new twist to the disappearance of Tadepalligudem MLA Eli Nani's daughter Ramya. It is learnt that Ramya approached the legal authority today.
Ramya filed a complaint with the Guntur Legal Services Authority alleging that her father was playing the kidnap drama to get her married again.
She mentioned in the petition that she fled the house after her father wanted to get her married again by hiding her marriage to Sandeep. "I was married to Sandeep five years back. We studied engineering together in Tadepalligudem. My father put me under house arrest for four years to stop me from meeting my husband. I have tried to run away from the house several times," she told the media.
She requested the legal authority to find Sandeep. She also alleged that her father was Sandeep's kidnapper. Ramya also cried before the Guntur judge asking for police protection for her and Sandeep. The Judge ordered the police to shift her to a women's protection centre.
In a latest development, Ramya's father and Tadepalligudem MLA responded to her petition saying that she was free to act according to her wish as she is a major. I did not interfere in the issue, he said, adding that he acted just as every parent does. "I only wanted a good life for my daughter," he said.
He refuted his daughters claim that he had kidnapped Sandeep. He also said that he never put his daughter under house arrest as they had taken her along on their trips to Tirupati and Varanasi.
The MLA requested the media not to blow the issue out of proportion.
