The High Court asked the Andhra Pradesh police to submit a detailed report by April 28.

Vijayawada: Following the direction from the Hyderabad High Court, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday began questioning college officials into the sensational Ayesha Meera murder case, near Ibrahimpatnam here.

Several persons who are residing near the Ayesha's hostel are also questioned as part of the investigation. It may be recalled that 19-year-old Ayesha Meera, was killed by unidentified assailants at her hostel room in Jupudi village near Ibrahimpatnam on December 26, 2007.

Ten years after the incident, prime accused in the case P Satyam Babu was acquitted by the High Court and questioned the police and investigating officials for misleading the case. Following the directions from the High Court, Andhra Pradesh DGP N Sambasiva Rao took up the re-investigation of the case by constituting a special team led by Vizag range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG)) Ch Srikanth. The High Court asked the Andhra Pradesh police to submit a detailed report by April 28.
