New party decision after December 10: Rayapati
The political unrest in Seemandhra over the bifurcation of the State made rumour mills work overtime on the party-switching by the leaders of various parties. As a consequence, the leaders in the news are invariably compelled to give explanations on the speculations.
Now, it is the turn of Guntur MP, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao to clear the air. Ruling out the reports that he is all set to join TDP, the five-time Member of Parliament from Guntur, on Monday said he has no thought of joining TDP as of now, and is still in Congress party.
Claiming that many major parties inviting him, Rayapati averred he is in the Congress party at present. The speculations of Rayapati joining TDP gained momentum, when he met the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu during his recent indefinite fast in Delhi.
The Guntur MP, who hinted at floating a new political party if the State bifurcation became inevitable, went ahead to announce the tentative date to it. The decision on the party will be taken after the results of elections for five states are out, he added.
“I will speak out anything about the new party only after December 10,” he said.
He, however, said that the president for the new party would be either he or the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
