Tweeple are fuming after China called Arunachal Pradesh as 'South Tibet' and gave its own names to six places in the State to reaffirm its territorial sovereignty over the Indian state.
The Ministry of Civil Affairs announced on April 14 on its website that it had standardized in Chinese characters, Tibetan and Roman alphabet the names of six places, the state-run Global Times reported. The standardization comes after Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh, wherein Hua Chunying, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, "The Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh severely damages China's interests and Sino-Indian relations."
However, the news spread like a wildfire on social media and tweeple strongly objected to it. Some even said that Arunachal should be treated akin to Balochistan Here are the Tweets:
