NDTV survey: writing on the wall

NDTV survey: writing on the wall - Sakshi Post

The NDTV survey  predicting a YSRCP sweep in AP, has predictably not gone down well with most political parties. The Congress is in a state of complete disarray and the Telugu Desam is expectedly, very upset at the result .

From the way things stand the TDP is on the brink of extinction as a political party. What was the TDP's reaction? It went ballistic alleging that the  survey itself was rigged. There is no greater example in recent history of shooting the messenger than the TDP accusing the NDTV of fixing its survey and the Congress hitting out at the CAG in both the 2G spectrum and Coal allocation scandal--coalgate.
The Union Minister for Corporate Affairs, Mr. Veerappa Moily could barely hide his feelings at the fact that YSRCP was miles ahead of the ruling Congress in the survey and said the Congress had its own 'weapons.' Later, he clarified that he meant political weapons. He tried to play the results down saying that the picture would change in one and a half years.
Neither the Congress nor the TDP have been able to come to terms with their decline and the growing popular support for YSRCP as a party and Jagan as a powerful political leader. They have not been able to digest the fact that 48% of the respondents said their choice for the next CM was YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Some time ago, the India Today/Nielsen survey also revealed that  YS Jagan Mohan Reddy remained the unchallenged leader and his party was likely to romp home as a clear winner, if polls were to be held.
The survey said that the YSRCP was likely to bag anywhere between 23 and 27 seats, while the other parties including the ruling Congress,TRS, and TDP would get less than 12 seats. A CNN-IBN survey also revealed that YSRCP and Jagan would wrest power in AP this time around.
The results of these surveys match the realities on the ground. The reactions of political parties are also along expected lines. Leaders of the YSRCP have however said that they would not be content with winning 21 or 25 seats, but would try to go well beyond the thirty mark. Judging by the response that the YSRCP has been getting and the tremendous amount of goodwill that Jagan enjoys, would it come as a surprise if  YSRCP crosses the thirty mark comfortably in the general elections?
