Naxal-Police Shootout in Chhattisgarh’s Dhanora Forest

The uneasy calm in South Chhattisgarh's treacherous forests was broken on Wednesday morning when the police and the Maoists were engaged in a shootout.

The encounter occurred in the Dhanora forest area in Chhattisgarh's Narayanapur district. According to the police, on Wednesday morning, the Maoists fired upon the police, who were conducting a combing operation in the region. The police replied with retaliatory firing. From Wednesday morning, the fierce encounter is going on.
