Naxal Carrying Reward Of Rs5 Lakh Held

Kakinada: A naxal carrying a reward of Rs5 lakh on his head was arrested on Monday from Pichukula Padu junction in Yetapaka mandal in East Godavari. SI Vishal Gunni said Mahesh (21) was trained in handling all sorts of weapons and was a key figure in Maoist movement in Hiddumal special zone.

Police said that Mahesh was involved in an attack on CRPF personnel in Burkapal area of Chhattisgarh in which over 24 personnel were killed in April this year. Following which the Chhattisgarh government had announced a reward of Rs5 lakh on his head.

Madivi hails from Chepurugudem village of Narayanapur district of Chhattisgarh, but was leading an underground life in Enkannagudem village of Charla Mandal near Bhadrachalam.
