Amul Increases Price Of Milk By Rs 2 Per Litre In Ahmedabad
HYDERABAD: Amul has increased the price of milk in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets in the state by Rs 2 per litre. The price rise increase will come into effect from Sunday. The price is all set to increase in Delhi and NCR, West Bengal, Mumbai and other markets of Maharashtra.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) which markets the milk products under the brand name Amul said on Saturday that the rise is because the price of cattle feed this year has risen by 35 per cent compared to 2018.
In a statement, they also said that this is only the second time in the last three years that they have increased the prices.
This means a 500 ml milk pouch of Amul Gold will now cost Rs 28 in Ahmedabad, Amul Tazza Rs 22, while Amul Shakti price remains the same.
Another milk brand Mother Dairy has also increased the prices by up to Rs 3 per litre in the Delhi-National Capital Region. The company supplies over 30 lakh litres of milk daily in the area.
