Happy Children’s Day!

Children's Day is celebrated in India celebrating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.

Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru who was fondly called 'Chacha Nehru',was known for his love for children, which is why his birthday which falls on November 14 is celebrated as Children's Day every year in our country.

On this day, chocolates and gifts are often distributed among children, with many schools organising cultural events. Earlier Children's Day was celebrated on November 20, which is observed as Universal Children's Day. However, after the death of Nehru, the country decided to celebrate 'Bal Diwas' on November 14 due to his unconditional love and affection for children.

His main aim was to develop the mind of young people, which lead to the setting up of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT).
