Three-year-old Sujith Stuck In Borewell Dead

Tiruchirapalli (TN): Stuck in a borewell for over 72 hours, three-year-old Sujith Wilson is found dead on Tuesday. His body was brought to Pudur for cremation. There was a pall of gloom in the village and his family mourned his death.

After an autopsy, his body was taken to his residence in Nadukattupatti today morning.


His body was "dismembered" and in a "highly decomposed" state, Commissioner of Revenue Administration J Radhakrishnan had told a news agency.

Sujith fell into the abondoned farm borewell while playing near his house in Nadukattupatti near Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu on Friday evening, October 25.

At around 10.30 pm on Monday, those posted near the borewell smelled a fould odour on Monday following which medical personnel and teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) assessed the situation and said that he was dead.

The digging operation was suspended henceforth.

More than six crews of the NDRF and SDRF were involved in the rescue operation with Chief Minister O Panneerselvam monitoring the operations.

Several political leaders prayed for the child's early rescue, while leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi wished the wellbeing of the child
