SC Rejects PIL To Link Aadhaar With Social Media Accounts

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a PIL to link all social media accounts with Aadhaar. The court further observed that all matters need not concern the apex court.

“Everything does not need to come to the Supreme Court”, the court said.

The plea had sought a direction to the Centre for appropriate steps with Aadhaar card to 'check menace of fake and paid news'.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Facebook to transfer cases to the apex court of the ones that were heard in the High Courts of Madras, Bombay and Madhya Pradesh in order to avoid conflicting judgements over the matter.
