PM Modi Diwali Gift , Approves 5 Per Cent Hike Over The Existing DA
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved to hike the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 5 per cent over the existing rate of 12 per cent and made it to 17 per cent, on Wednesday, October 9. The hike will be applicable retrospectively from the month of July of this year.
According to the reports, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar announced the Union Cabinet approval for hiking the DA to 5 per cent over the existing rate. With the latest hike, the Central government will be burdened with Rs 16,000 crore, the Union Minister said.
He also said that with this decision of DA hike, 50 lakh central government employees and 62 lakh pensioners will be benefited.
The Union Minister has also announced that the Centre's remuneration for Asha Workers will be doubled, and they will get Rs 2,000 henceforth.
