Mumbai: Mumbai’s Bandra West area saw a massive fire in a building that hold the state run telecom company Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL). Around 100 people are said to be stranded on the roof of the building waiting to be rescued. Situated at SV Road in suburban Bandra, reports say that the 9 floor building has the fire confined only to the 9 and the 10 floor.

The fire is said to have emerged from a short circuit that came out of an AAC Duct at the 3rd floor of the building, and then travelled to the other floors.

Mumbai has not been new to fire accidents as they have been unfortunately in the recent past. In the week that passed, a fire had erupted on the third floor of a three-storey building near Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba.

No injuries have been recorded at the site of the fire, and more information on it is yet to be ascertained.
