When Lifesaver Ambulance Killed An Entire Family

A family of five from West Bengal were killed in the road accident - Sakshi Post

Bengaluru: In a deadly road accident that took place in Bengaluru, five people lost their lives. As per the details, the five persons, all belonging to one family were traveling in a hatchback when it collided with a government-run ambulance of the National Ambulance Service.

While all the persons in the car were killed, the driver and the nurse in the ambulance survived the accident and are currently undergoing treatment.

The deceased have been Dipankar Dey (46), Swagata Chaudhury (42), Dhruva Dey (14), Sujaya (45) and Jayanthi (65).

The family of five, who hailed from West Bengal, were heading towards the city from the airport route while the ambulance was heading towards the airport when the head-on collision occurred.

The accident took place around 12.30 am on Monday at Kogilu cross in the Yehalanka in the northern border of the city. According to the police, the ambulance driver might be at fault as the vehicle crossed over the center median and collided with the car coming from the opposite direction.

The vehicle was destroyed due to the impact of the accident and firemen were deployed to retrieve bodies from the car. The bodies were shifted to the Yehalanka Government Hospital.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident and will arrest the driver of the ambulance if he is found guilty.
