Coastal Karnataka Roads Shut, Route Diverted After Landslides Caused By Rains

1. Kudremukha Ghat is closed due to landslides. Please use Bangalore - Hassan - Chickmaglur - Aldur - Balehonnuru - Sringeri - Agumbe - Hebri - Perdoor - Manipal - Udupi - Mangalore route (alternative to Charmadi) only for cars and vans.

2. Shiradi Ghat : As per newspaper reports it may take a few months to reopen. Not yet fully confirmed. Currently Bangalore - Hassan - Sakleshpura - Uppinangadi - Dharmastala/Mangalore/Subramanya route is closed. Cars and vans can use Charmadi route. No trucks allowed.

3. Sampaje Ghat: It may take 6 months or more to restore the route as per newspaper reports. Totally damaged. Connectivity from Mangalore to Madikeri is totally cut off. People coming from Mysore can use Hassan - Belur - Mudigere - Kottighehara - Charmadi - Belthangady route to reach Mangalore.

4. Charmadi Ghat is in a bad shape, heavy traffic. Small landslides. Travel only if its emergency.

5. Bangalore to Mangalore train may take another two weeks to restore the line completely. Landslides have not stopped in the remote areas of ghat section.

6. Mangalore to Chennai trains have started via Palghat - Coimbatore.

7. Mangalore to Ernakulam & Trivandran trains have not yet started.

8. Trucks can use Hulikal ghat. Bangalore - Shimoga - Thirthahalli - Masthikatte - Siddapura - Kundapura - Udupi - Mangalore route.
