The Three-time Prime Minister Of India breathed his last this afternoon at All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he was being treated for multiple health issues. The erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangh owed its existence to the late leader. After the downfall of Janata government, it was AB Vajpayee who remodeled the Jana Sangh to make it what is known today as the Bharatiya Janatha Party.He was the oldest living former Indian Prime Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently declared that Atalji's birthday be marked as Good Governance day. AB Vajpayee is a recipient of Bharat Ratna.

The 93-year-old who hailed from Gwalior was critical since yesterday. He was put on life support. Politicians cutting across party lines had paid the ailing leader a visit.
The former prime minister was admitted to AIIMS on June 12 following a urinary tract infection. Vajpayee's family members from Gwalior and Agra rushed to the hospital after learning about the critical condition of his health. LK Advani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani are few of the many pioliticians who had thronged the AIIMS to enquire about Vajpayee's health.

West Bengal Chief Minister said: "I have cancelled my work to visit #AtalBihariVajpayee today. I got chance to work with him. He is a statesman like figure. We supported him when his govt was falling. His pattern of work was different & not like present politics."
