PM Selects Dehradun As Host Of International Yoga Day Main Event

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat today wrote a blog thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selecting the state capital as the host of the main event on International Yoga Day tomorrow, and said it would boost tourism.

The Forest Research Institute (FRI) campus in Dehradun will host this year's national programme on the International Yoga Day on June 21 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending it.

Rawat, in the blog, said that hosting the yoga day main event would give Uttarakhand an identity as the land of yoga, besides giving a new direction to tourism in the state which would generate job opportunities.

The prime minister will arrive here tonight to participate in the main event on yoga day. Elaborate security arrangements have been made and nearly 3,000 security personnel have been deployed in and around the venue in view of Modi's visit. (PTI)
