Narayana to contest from Khammam LS seat

CPI state secretary Narayana will be the party candidate from Khammam parliamentary constituency in the coming elections.

His candidature was finalized in the district level meet of the party held at Khammam on Tuesday.

As part of the alliance between CPI and Congress, the CPI is seeking two LS seats and 17 assembly seats. But, Congress is willing to offer the party only one LS seat and 12 assembly seats.

If Congress party is willing to offer Nalgonda seat too to CPI, the latter is considering the name of CPI National Secretary Suravaram Sudhakara Reddy for the seat.

However, Congress leaders from Khammam district are trying their level best to field a Congress leader only from Khammam LS seat.

Senior leaders like Renuka Chowdhury, Ramireddy Venkata Reddy, MLC P.Sudhakara Reddy and others are pressurizing their party high command for keeping up the seat to Congress only.

But, it is speculated that Congress high command is infavour of giving the Khammam seat to CPI only.
