Nara Lokesh, Akhilapriya Among 11 New Ministers Sworn In

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's son, newly elected MLC Nara Lokesh, Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhilapriya, TDP seniors Kimidi Kalavenkatrao, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and seven others were sworn in as ministers in Andhra Pradesh cabinet on Sunday. With the inclusion of 11 ministers and ousting of five from the lot, the strength of the state cabinet rose to 26 including the Chief Minister.
Governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath of office to the new ministers at a grand ceremony attended by mostly the families from both Chandrababu and his wife side.
The new cabinet includes only one woman in the place of two ousted and the reshuffle completely sidelined backward classes and downtrodden sections of the society. Four MLAs defected from YSRCP - Akhilapriya, Sujayakrishna Ranga Rao, Amarnath Reddy and Adinarayana Reddy - got cabinet berths.
However, Chandrababu's cabinet reshuffle brought more wrath among the party seniors and those ousted than joy among the cadres. Now it is a huge task for the party leadership to control internal dissidence.
