Nandyal MP SPY Reddy joins YSRCP

The Congress Party on Friday suffered another jolt when Nandyal MP SPY Reddy quit the party to join the YSR Congress party.

SPY Reddy took the membership of the party in the presence of its president and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad.

Later, SPY Reddy told reporters that he would meet Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Saturday to submit his resignation to oppose the Congress decision to carve out separate Telangana state.

He said YSR Congress alone was trying sincerely to keep the state, and recalled that Jagan Mohan Reddy went on hunger strike in jail for a united state.
