Nagma, Khushboo fight it out for Mylapore

Nagma and Khusboo never had a showdown on the screen. Both demigods of Kollywood, they had fans build temples for them in Tamil Nadu.Now, both the star-turned-politicians are engaged in 'star wars.' The reason? Both want to contest from the same seat.

Both Khushboo, the official spokesperson of the Congress in Tamil Nadu and Nagma, the national general secretary of the Mahila Congress, want to contest from Mylapur in Chennai in the coming assembly elections.
With Congress likely to get Mylapore seat as it is fighting the elections in alliance with the Congress, the two star-politicians feel it is a safe seat and want to contest from there.

Khusboo has her home in Santhom area under Mylapore constituency and has done considerable amount of relief work during the recent floods in Chennai. She feels she can have a facile win. On the other hand, Nagma feels she has a chance as her sister Jyothika resides in Besant Nagar under the same constituency.
Though Khushboo is hugely popular in Tamil Nadu, Nagma is a senior in the party. On Wednesday, both Nagma nad Khushboo came to the party state headquarters Satyamurthy Bhavan along with their supporters and applied for Mylapore ticket. Nagma reportedly is trying to get a nod from both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Which of these heroines will have the last laugh remains to be seen.
