Nagam to soon wear BJP kanduva?

It is not a breaking news that Telangana Nagara Samithi convener and Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy is planning to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. It has been reported several times that Nagam wants to don the BJP kanduva.

The latest news is that Nagam is in Delhi with BJP state president Kishan Reddy. Nagam also had a word with BJP national president Rajnath Singh.

Speaking to the media after meeting with Rajnath Singh, Nagam said: "I am not refusing reports of joining the BJP. The Centre's  strategy and move with respect to Telangana makes one lose faith in the Parliamentary system. It's clear that Congress will never grant Telangana. Only BJP can make Telangana a reality. I will decide about joining BJP, after speaking to the party members. I will need some time to take a call on the same."

Sources say that he would contest from Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha seat in the next elections. It is a known fact that Nagam quit the TDP and formed the Telangana Nagara Samithi and also won as an independent MLA from Nagarkurnool. Reports say that Nagam  wanted to convert the Telangana Nagara Samithi into a political party, but did not receive any support. So he has no other option but to join another political party. Now it seems he's zeroed in on the BJP.

It is worth mentioning here  that Nagam also participated in the Ugadi festival celebrations being organised by the BJP. It is learnt that BJP leaders too had invited  the Nagarkurnool MLA to join the party.
