My wife kills self over a new saree: TV artiste Prabhakar

“My wife committed suicide for not giving money to purchase a saree on our marriage anniversary,” said TV serial actor B Prabhakar, whose wife Jeevita allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her house in Venkatagiri of Yousufguda on Friday night.

The relatives of Jeevitha told the police that Prabhakar often come to house in an inebriated condition and harass her for more dowry. Jeevitha's father Balraj lodged a complaint on Prabhakar for torturing Jeevita.

“Unable to bear his harassment, my daughter ended her life,” he stated in his complaint. Based on the complaint lodged by Balraj, the police booked a case against Prabhakar under Section 304B of IPC and arrested him.
