My Sleazy Clip Of No Interest To Gujarat: Hardik Patel
New Delhi: Patidar leader Hardik Patel condemned attempts to smear him through video clips allegedly showing him in the company of a woman claiming that the people of Gujarat were more interested in the development of the state in which the ruling party brags about endlessly.
He said that the common citizens were interested in the Gujarat-model as a development story and not that of a 22-year-old boy. He tweeted:
Responding to some of his CDs which have gone viral, Hardik Patel said that those with money bags were out to tarnish his image, but that would not stop him from backing off from his demands. He claimed that he would give them a fight to the finish and not the boy they think he is. He blamed the BJP's dirty tricks department for using morphed videos to mar his image in the public eye.
The video doing the rounds appears to have been shot in a hotel in the second week of May, though a question mark hangs over its authenticity. Patel feels that in its desperation the BJP is likely to release many more such morphed videos to smear his reputation in the run-up to the polls. However, he asserted that such tactics would not deter him from his path. In the days to come he would prove that the CDs were morphed ones, he said defiantly.
