Mudragada Secures Court’s Permission For Padayatra in Konaseema
Hyderabad: The High Court on Tuesday gave permission for former minister Mudragada Padmanabham's satygraha march in Konaseema.
The court opined that it was wrong to suggest that there would be a disturbance in peace and harmony just because he undertakes a rally. Stating that everyone has the right to demonstrate peacefully in a democracy, the High Court said that in the event of any disturbances the police would have to look into it.
Mudragada's planned rally in Konaseema for the Kapus's BC reservation cause has been in the source of high drama recently, with the government on one side stating that no permission sought for the march and on the other side mustering up the police presence in the area.
A public interest litigation was filed in the High Court recently against the rally saying that it would lead to disturbance in peace and harmony. The High Court however did not oppose the march.
The satyagraha march would take place between 16 and 21 November, 2016
