MRO slips into coma after TDP men thrash him

A Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) sustained serious injuries when he was allegedly attacked by Telugu Desam Party activists at Anantapur on Monday.
According to reports, the TDP men asked the Gundibanda MRO to change a ration dealer and wanted another person of their choice to be appointed. But the MRO declined to do so. Angered over this, the TDP men accosted MRO and attacked him.
He slipped into coma and was rushed to a nearby hospital. The MRO is battling for his life in hospital.
It is learnt that unable to bear the pressures from the TDP leaders, five MROs went on long leaves in the district.
