East Godavari district Kakinada MP and former minister Thota Narasimham has fallen prey to cyber crime. The cyber criminals who cloned his card have drawn Rs. 50,000 from his card at Goa. The MP has filed a complaint against this with the AP CBI cyber crime police. The cyber crime branch police are struggling to get details on the issue and decided to take the issue to the notice of the court. The MP has informed his bank of the illegitimate transaction done from his account and requested the bank to block all the transactions from his account for some time.
According to the SMS received by the MP from his bank, Rs 50,000 were withdrawn from his account at an ATM in Goa, two weeks ago, The cyber crime police have kept mum about the issue and have not let it leak to the media.
The police finally let the issue come into light saying that the MP had used his debit card at a mall in Bengaluru. The police also said the details must have been acquired by the notorious criminals with the help of card skimmers.
However, the police are still fazed about how the criminals must have got the debit card PIN number. Probing into the issue, the CBI will be interrogating the employees at the mall and also the internet banking department of the MP’s bank.
