Movie Review: Nenu Local
Film: Nenu Local
Cast: Nani, Keerthy Suresh
Direction: Trinadha Rao Nakkina
Producer: Dil Raju
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
The youthful entertainer ‘Nenu Local’ has hit the marquee. Will Nani continue his success trail with 'Nenu Local'? Will the Mallu beauty Keerthy Suresh have another successful hit movie in her kitty after ‘Nenu Sailaja’? Similarly, will Dil Raju be lucky this time too after his last Sankranti hit ‘Shatamanam Bhavati’.
Story:
Babu (Nani) is a carefree guy with no aim and purpose in life. One comes to know his reluctant attitude towards life as Babu, a B Tech graduate, makes numerous attempts to clear his backlogs in vain. As the movie progresses, Babu comes across Keerthi (Keerthy), a chirpy cheerful girl. And naturally without leaving the audience to any guessing, hero falls for the girl.
Babu falls head over heels for Keerthi and tries to woo her. Keerthi initially tries to avoid him but eventually falls for him. What forms the crux of the story is that Babu realizes that Keerthi is the daughter of his own professor, who has a very opinion about him. How he convinces families from both the sides and how he overcomes the hurdles to get married to his lady love forms the plot.
Analysis:
Though there are lot of expectations as the lead pair have big hits behind them. Even the production team has just delivered a hit. But, the movie has nothing to offer novel as it’s run of the mill.
Although Nani’s earlier films were commercial hits, they were content driven.
As the movie unfolds, the audience know what's going to come next.
Nani fits the bill and steals the show for his performance. Simply put, the movie runs on Nani’s shoulders. His one-liners certainly will tickle your funny bones.
The first half is interesting, with characters like Posani Murali Krishna adding humour element. But the second half is sluggish and you will feel some scenes could have been chopped off at the editing table. The climax part salvages the film a bit.
Lead heroine Keerthu Suresh, who has the image of girl-next-door, has essayed her role well. Her chemistry is crackling with Nani and she looked beautiful in Sarees. The surprise element comes from actor Naveen Chandra, whose cameo role didn’t go over the board.
The music by DSP is good. He has given peppy tunes but sadly none of the song could register in your minds.
Positives:
Nani’s histrionics
Comic Scenes
Climax
Negatives:
Routine Characterisation
Sluggish Second half
Verdict:
Complete Commercial movie. Watch it for Nani, youthful love story and entertainment without expecting anything out of the box.
