Vikram’s histrionics have been proved time and again. His acting skills are legion and he can give all the big names in film world a run for their money. This film (Inkokkadu) proves that already proved point that Vikram has no match as far as acting skills are concerned. But, the problem has always been lack of commercial success for his movies. Will this film end his drought run? Let’s see.
Storyline The film begins with a 70-year-old man attacking Indian Embassy in Malaysia and killing 20 people. Later, it turns out that the old man was under the influence of a potion churned out by chemican scientist Love (Vikram) and that this potion can make a man invincible for five minutes. The Indian police ask suspended detective Akhilan Vinod (Vikram again) to probe the case. Vikram has a score to settle with Love. He loses his wife (Nayantara) because of Vikram. Akhilan Vinod pairs up with RAW officer Arushi (Nitya Menon) to go to the bottom of the issue. How he manages to outwit the foxy villain forms the matrix of the story.
Actors Vikram has shows great variation between the wily and cruel villain and the sincere sleuth. He proves that he is a niche actor. Nayan’s glam show is a plus for the movie. The actors did their bit.
Technicals:
Director Anand Shankar has succeeded in making Vikram do a full length villain’s role. Action scenes and sudden twists are good, but one is left with a feeling that the film is quite slow. Some scenes are sans any logic. Harris Jairaj’s music numbers fail to liven up, but the background music is quite enthralling. The production values, cinematography and editing are good.
Plus Points:
Vikram’s acting
Background Music
Minus Points:
Screenplay
Songs
Verdict:
Watch this movie for Vikram. He has climbed up several notches with this movie as an actor.
