One of the three domes of the historic Jama Masjid in UP's Bulandshahr collapsed on Diwali evening, killing a 10-year-old boy and seriously injuring two others.

The boys, who were playing in a lane near the mosque, were buried in the debris when the dome collapsed around 4 pm on Thursday. A huge crowd gathered at the spot, delaying rescue operations. According to masjid's head priest Zainul Abideen, while Saad was killed on the way to Delhi for treatment, the other two were seriously injured and were being treated at the District Hospital in Bulandshehr itself.

According to local municipal corporator Abdul Nafe Ansari, the mosque was about 800 years old.
