Mopidevei Venkataramana gets bail
Former Minister Mopidevei Venkataramana, an accused in the Vanpic aspect of quid pro quo investments case against YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was granted bail by a special CBI court on Monday. The former minister was arrested on 25 May, 2012.
Mopidevi had sought bail on the grounds that the CBI had completed the probe in the case. The judge imposed two conditions for the grant of bail: Mopidevi is not to leave Hyderabad without the permission of the court and he should not make any attempt to influence witnesses or change the evidence.
The court asked Mopidevi to submit a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two sureties of like sum towards execution of the bail. He is expected to come out of the Chanchalguda jail today.
