Mohanlal, Prakash Raj Team Up After 20 Years

Legendary actors Mohanlal and Prakash Raj will be sharing screen space again after 20 years in the upcoming Malayalam film 'Odiyan'. The two were seen together last in the blockbuster hit Tamil political drama 'Iruvar' helmed by Mani Ratnam.

It is learnt that 'Odiyan' would be made on a mammoth budget, which will have volatile action sequences. The action scenes would be choreographed by Peter Hein and is said to be the major highlight of the film. VA Sreekumar Menon will be wielding the megaphone and the film will go on floor from May 25.

The director doesn't want spill the beans on his characters. "It's too early to speak in detail about Odiyan or its characters. I would say that Manju's role is as prominent as that of Mohanlal's. She is quite a strong woman in the story. Also, Prakash Raj's antagonist would be one of the most powerful villain characters that has taken shape so far in the industry," he quips.

With a novel storyline based on the extra-sensory powers of a tribe living in Palakkad-Malabar area in Kerala, the movie will also have a Bollywood star, it's learnt. The tribals have powers to change themselves into any animal. Shooting will be held in Palakkad, Thazarak, Pollachhi, Varanasi and Hyderabad.

According to reports, talks are on to rope in leading Bollywood filmmaker and actor Siddique too will have a major role in the movie which is being bankrolled by Mohanlal's close aide Antony Perumabavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
