Mobile signals save techie from rape in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, In a shocking incident, a man allegedly tried to rape a woman by entering her car on the sly when she was visiting a temple on Friday in Hyderabad. But the techie's smart thinking saved her from being raped.
According to reports, the techie hailing from Himayath Sagar was visiting a temple in Kajaguda on Friday morning, when she forgot to lock her car's doors. When she returned from dharshan and opened the car there was a stranger sitting on the back seat. She tried closing the door, but he threatened her with a knife and forced her inside the car.
Threatening her with the knife, the man forced her to drive through Outer Ring Road. While driving on Gachibowli-Shamshabad highway, he moved to the front seat, and tried to rape her. Instead of panicking, she immediately messaged her friend.
Her friend, after being alerted through the message, informed the police of the same. Police responded immediately and alerted the patrolling vehicles. Since the techie's mobile was on, police traced her car through mobile signals, and found out that her car was parked at Himayath Sagar as directed by the accused.
Police rushed to the spot immediately, and caught the accused. He was taken to the police station, and then to an undisclosed place for interrogations, as per reports. Police have added that the accused is not being cooperative. A case has been filed against him, and investigations have started.
