Hyderabad: With an objective to strengthen TRS at the gross-root level, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao is believed to have taken decision to appoint TRS MLAs as district presidents.

Restructuring of existing committees and appointing new teams for new districts is expected to be completed by Deepavali, according to the sources in the know. As many as 21 new districts and 125 new mandals have been created in Telangana on Dasara day. Now, the new districts need new units and new presidents.

Some close associates of KCR believe that the TRS supremo will appoint the MLAs as district presidents and give a free hand to them in setting up new committees for the districts. Socio-economic factors will be taken into consideration while appointing committees, said a senior leader at TRS.

All the political parties are in the process of appointing new teams following the reorganization of districts in Telangana. According to the latest strategy charted out by KCR, every minister will take care of two districts, while MLA will be the president of district's political affairs.

Some close associates of KCR believe that the TRS supremo will appoint the MLAs as district presidents and give a free hand to them in setting up new committees for the districts. Socio-economic factors will be taken into consideration while appointing committees, said a senior leader at TRS.

Several positions in party committees are lying vacant as district presidents and state president have been elected at a plenary held in 2015. After this, one more plenary was also held in April 2016. The current term of the state president and district presidents will expire by April 2017.

The rejig may ensure key posts for all the senior leaders in the TRS. All the committees at district and mandal levels may be finalized by Deepavali.
