“MLAs are in Illegal Detention under Instructions from Sasikala”

Former Minister S.P. Shunmuganathan on Friday lodged a complaint, alleging that he was able to somehow escape from virtual confinement. The other MLAs are still in illegal detention and confinement under the instructions of V K Sasikala, he said.

Following the apprehensions raised about the fate of more than 100 AIADMK MLAs at the Madras High Court since yesterday, a batch of MLAs were brought out in car from a beach resort on the East Coast Road at Koovathur, Kancheepuram district at around noon on Friday.

The MLAs, including the Kattumannarkovil MLA Murugumaaran, Sholingur MLA Parthiban told the media that they were staying at the resort on their own will. After the brief interaction with the media, the AIADMK MLAs went back to the resort.

Meanwhile an altercation broke out between locals & AIADMK men at Kuvathur over access to road leading to Golden Bay Resort. No police personnel was seen near Golden Bay Resort in Koovathur since Friday noon, according to sources.
