MLA Anitha Opts Out Of TTD Board
Tirumala: After lots of criticism by the political parties as well as general public for the appointment of Payakaraopet MLA Anitha's into Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board, Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders for reliving her from the Board membership today.
The MLA has been staying away from TDP activities for some time because she wasn't accommodated into the state ministry though the cabinet was reshuffled and expanded twice. As an effort to pacify her, she was made the member of TTD Board April 20 by the TDP government. But appointment turned out to be controversial and was highly criticised.
Despite TDP government and its MLAs trying to justify the appointment of Anitha into TTD Board, there was no use. Moreover, an interview of Payakaraopet MLA to a web channel became viral thus forcing the government to step back. With pressure mounting from all ends the MLA herself wrote a letter to government to relieve her from Board membership.
