Minor raped, genitals mutilated with acid

Chandarlapadu (Krishna): A heinous crime was committed against a minor from Chandarlapadu mandal in Krishna district. Sixteen-year-old Sravani was raped, and her face and genitals mutilated with acid. She was left hanging from a neem tree with her 'chunni' around her neck.

Sravani, a daily wage labourer, left home on Sunday afternoon. Noticing that she did not return even until dark, her family members began to look for her. On Monday morning they found three youth , including a minor, from Vibharinthalapadu village, loitering in the fields.

When they confronted the youth and continued to press them about Sravani, they led them to the crime scene. Sravani was found dead in a cotton field, hanging from a neem tree, with her 'chunni' tied around her neck. Evidences of rape and acid mutilation of her face and genitals were present.

Nandigama DSP reached the incident spot and is overseeing the investigation. The alleged culprits have been taken into custody.
