Minor girl raped by auto-rickshaw driver

Hyderabad,  An auto-rickshaw driver was Tuesday arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in L B Nagar area of the city, police said today.

Accused Jawed took the minor girl, studying in class II, and her brother to an open land on the pretext of buying firecrackers for them last night, police said. The accused then gave the victim's brother a Rs 100 note asking him to get change and in the meanwhile took the girl in the nearby bushes and allegedly raped her, they said based on a complaint lodged by the victim's parents. Following the complaint, a case was booked under sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against Jawed, who was subsequently arrested, police said.
