Minor girl molested by school peon

Korba: A class VI student was allegedly molested by a peon at a government school in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, police said on Friday.

 The accused has been arrested, they said. The accused, identified as Umangram (58), molested the 11-year-old girl in the school premises at Urga in the district on August 12 following which the victim informed her parents about it, Urga police station SHO Gopal Vyas said. Based on a complaint lodged in this regard yesterday by the girl's parents, the peon was arrested, he said. The accused was booked under section354(assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC andsection8 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offence)Act, the SHO said, adding that further probe was on. Block Education OfficerSandeep Pandey suspended the peon with immediate effect after the case was lodged against him.
