Minister's Son Misbehaves with Teacher, Escapes FIR
Hyderabad: Ravela Susheel, son of AP Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu, is embroiled in a controversy after he allegedly misbehaved with a woman, Fatima Begum (20) here.
The incident occurred on Thursday but the victim's relatives alleged that police made an attempt to hush up the case as it involved a minister's son. According to the complaint lodged by Fatima at Banjara Hills police station, two persons started following her when she left school, where she is a teacher, on Thursday and started misbehaving with her. She said that the occupants appeared to be in an inebriated condition. They called her inside the car and even held her hand. After the woman called for help, locals who rushed to her rescue thrashed them.
Initially, the police did not mention Susheel's name in the FIR stating that only the driver, Appa Rao, was mentioned by Fatima in the complaint. However, on Friday she showed the pictures of the accused captured on her mobile following which police issued notice to Susheel to appear at the police station.
However, few television channels aired the story on Friday and reported that the minister's son was not named in the FIR. The complainant and relatives demanded immediate arrest of the minister's son. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) A Venkateshwera Rao said there is no political pressure on them in the case. "We are investigating. It has to be ascertained who the second person is and we will proceed accordingly," he said.
