Minister Parthasarathy gets a breather from HC

Secondary education minister Parthasarthy got a breather from the High Court on Friday. High Court has stayed the ED Appellate Tribunal verdict.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had fined Parthasarathy Rs 3 lakhs in the FERA violation case. The secondary education had challenged the order.

The Tribunal that conducted the enquiry ordered that the minister must pay the fine amount. However, Parthasarathy challenged the Tribunal's decision in the High Court. As a relief to him, the court passed a stay order on the same on Friday.

In the same case, the Economic Offences Court had earlier ordered a jail term of two months for the minister. Parthasarathy, however, has sought the intervention of High Court challenging that veridict too.  The case is pending before the court.
