Minister inspects AIIMS site
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that land inspection for establishing the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Mangalagiri in Guntur district is being done.
“AIIMS will be established here at the cost of Rs.1500 cr on par with the facilities at JIPMER,” said the minister.
The minister inspected TB Sanitorium area in Mangalagiri town, which is the site for the institution.
He said that the area is convenient for establishing AIIMS. “We will inspect the land here and send a report to the central team soon,” said the minister.
He said that the union government has already allotted an amount of Rs.125 crore for establishing AIIMS here.
The minister said that their government will reimburse the fees of Andhra Pradesh students in Telangana if needed.
