Mild tension at UoH as Rohith's mother tries to enter varsity

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at the gate of the University of Hyderabad on Saturday, when Rohith Vemula's mother Radhika tried to force her way into the university. Se was prevented by the security personnel at the gate.

During the heated debate that ensued, Radhika swooned. She was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. As a result, there was a mild tension for sometime.

Meanwhile, activists of the Leftist Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) staged a dharna for sometime demanding the immediate arrest of vice-chancellor P Appa Rao. They shouted slogans against the Central Government. During this time, there was a wordy duel between the PDSU activists and the security personnel.
