Medak Bypoll: Sunitha Lakshma Reddy to be Cong candidate
The Congress has decided to field former minister Sunitha Lakshma Reddy as its candidate for the bye-election to the Medak Lok Sabha constituency.
The TPCC has preferred Sunitha over Turpu Jayaprakash Reddy, who too was a contender.
State Congress affairs incharge Digvijay Singh, who arrived at Hyderabad, held parleys with the party leaders at Gandhibhavan. He held discussions with TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
The bye election became necessary as KCR, who had also won from Gajwel Assembly constituency became the chief minister and resigned LS post.
The Congress is trying hard to revive itself after the recent electoral drubbing. Throughout the day on Saturday, Diggie Raja held detailed discussions with senior leaders to prepare a road map for Congress revival.
Diggie Raja would be in Hyderabad for two more days and would hold further discussions.
